The brief was to transform a tired, boring, lifeless hotel into a fresh, vibrant, dynamic accommodation venue for Scotland’s largest independent leisure operator. A bold, colourful brand with strong graphical elements and cool USPs (think free gourmet Hot Chocolate on arrival or complimentary skateboard hire) captured the imagination and really stood out from the competition in the extremely crowded Edinburgh hotel market.
The brand, for whom reception is a merch-heavy cafe bar and the lift is a ‘Vertical Transportation System’, quickly established a strong online and social media presence and rose to #8 in the Edinburgh Trip Advisor Rankings, with occupancy, average room rate and total revenue exponentially increased from pre-refurb times.
