Black Ivy
A project close to our heart, Black Ivy is a brand which has captured the imagination of the Edinburgh public. A stylish bar, terrace and restaurant with 22 boutique guest rooms and all located in a beautiful parkland setting, we created a slick visual identity which is fresh and modern while retaining a sense of classic style. Taking some inspiration from legendary Studio54 owner and boutique hotel pioneer Ian Schrager, we positioned the brand under the banner of ‘Local Luxury For All’ to ensure a consistent balance of style, luxury, value and community. We had great fun creating teaser and pre-launch campaigns, developing interest, excitement and ultimately a brand with real personality, charm and depth.

It has been a pleasure to work with Saved By Robots on Black Ivy. By working closely together, we defined the core proposition as ‘Local Luxury For All’, this idea champions both premium, luxurious and amazing experiences alongside the natural charm and warmth of a neighbourhood venue. With Robots’ help, Black Ivy is stylish, contemporary but also choc full of personality and loved by our community. I think it just might be the best thing we’ve ever done.
Creating all material and assets, we ensured total brand consistency across the project and delivered a slick, fresh website which gave Black Ivy a digital presence which perfectly reflected the physical material and persona already in play. Having won multiple awards, Black Ivy goes from strength to strength and we look forward to a long and lasting relationship with the team.
